Garlic Cheese Buns

garlic cheese bread

Bread-making dates back as far as 300 B.C, when the Ancient Egyptians discovered yeast. Many other groups of people also have their own variation of bread, which are still eaten to this day. These breads can be found steamed, cooked in a dutch oven, baked in a bread oven, and many other way.

Today, breads can also be found in many different shapes and sizes, from buns to loafs; with many flavors to carve your craving, from chocolate to garlic cheese.

I love bread! When it comes to bread and sweets, I cannot say no. Therefore, when I came upon YouTuber Kimiya Lim’s recipe for Super Fluffy Garlic Cheese Buns I had to give it a try. I adapted the recipe to enhance the flavor to my liking, and LOVE the outcome. I hope you will too!

Recipe

For the dough:

  1. ¾ c. luke warm milk
  2. 3 tsp. sugar
  3. 1 ½ tsp. instant dried yeast
  4. 1 ½ c. flour
  5. ½ Tbs. salt
  6. 1 ½ Tbs. melted butter
  7. 1 tsp. garlic powder

For the topping:

  1. 2 Tbs. butter
  2. 1 Tbs. garlic, minced
  3. ½ tsp. salt
  4. ½ tsp. sugar
  5. 1 Tbs. dried parsley
  6. ½ c. cheddar cheese
  7. 1 Tbs parmesan cheese

In a small bowl, combine the milk, sugar and yeast. Give it a stir and set aside for 10 minutes, to activate the yeast.

In a bigger bowl, sift in the flour. Then add the salt, melted butter, and garlic powder. Next pour in the yeasty milk and mix everything together to form a dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour; if the dough is too dry, add more milk.

Next, flour a work surface and knead the dough until it is no longer sticky. Then divide the dough into 8 balls and allow to rest for 1 hour in a greased pan. Be sure to cover the pan with a kitchen towel, leaving the dough balls to double in size.

Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients for the topping in a small bowl. Once the dough balls have expanded, spoon the topping on each. Then place the pan in a 375 degrees Fahrenheit oven, and bake for 30 minutes.

Allow the garlic cheese buns to cool for 10 minute before enjoying^-^
